4.4.9. Removal and installation of a head of cylinders
Start work performance only after full cooling of the engine!
- Disconnect and remove the rechargeable battery (see the Head Sistemy of electric equipment of the engine).
- Empty the cooling system (see the Head of the Cooling system of the engine, heating of salon and air conditioning).
- Turn out spark plugs and take off a belt of the drive of auxiliary units (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car).
- Take off a GRM drive belt (see the Section Removal and installation of a belt of the GRM drive).
Components of assembly of a head of cylinders
- Remove the inlet pipeline and a final collector (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases). If the head of cylinders is not subject to service, it can be removed assembled with the pipeline and a collector:
- Mark with a tape and disconnect all electrical wiring going to a head of cylinders, the inlet pipeline and the case of a butterfly valve;
- Dump pressure in a power supply system and disconnect toplivnyeliniya from the fuel highway. Disconnect also all vacuum hoses and hoses of the cooling system from the inlet pipeline / case of a throttle;
- Remove a basic arm from an inlet collector, also remove the top arm of fastening of the generator;
- Disconnect an accelerator cable;
- Disconnect from a final collector a reception pipe of system of production of the fulfilled gases assembled with a basic arm;
- Disconnect an electrical wiring from a lambda probe.
- Uncover the gas-distributing mechanism (see the Section Removal and installation of a cover of the gas-distributing mechanism).
- Remove a camshaft cogwheel (see the Section Removal and installation of cogwheels of the GRM drive).
- Turn out bolts of fastening of a back cover of the GRM drive to the case of the gas-distributing mechanism.
- On the C14NZ engine separate sockets of an electrical wiring and VV cables from the ignition distributor. On X12SZ and C14SE engines separate electrical wiring sockets at DIS ignition module. Give a bolt of fastening of the tire of grounding in a forward part of a head and remove the protection cover of an electrical wiring from a head.
- Release fixing collars and disconnect cooling system hoses from a thermostat casing.
- Make sure that all hoses, tubes, wires and other lines of communication are disconnected and do not prevent dismantle of a head of cylinders.
- Working as it should be, the return shown on an illustration, gradually, on a quarter of a turn for approach, weaken bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders so that the possibility of their reversing manually appeared. Remove bolts from a head in a set with the washers.
- Having lifted up, separate the case of the gas-distributing mechanism from a head, - in case of need tap the case from sides the hammer with soft brisk.
Do not hook the case the lever in order to avoid damage of the interfaced surfaces at all!
- Mark the provision of two guides of plugs, remove them from a head and remove to the reliable place.
- Separate a head of cylinders from the block, - try not to drop levers of the drive of valves and maslootrazhatelny caps. In case of need slightly tap a head from sides the hammer with soft brisk, - at all DO NOT HOOK it the lever! Mark the provision of two guides of plugs, remove them and remove to the reliable place.
- Remove sealing laying, - yet do not throw out laying for the purpose of identification on it new.
Preparation for installation
- Carefully smooth out and dry wipe the interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders. Use a firm plastic or wooden scraper for removal of all traces of material of old laying and a deposit. Also clear the bottoms of pistons. Be extremely careful, - it is easy for surface to damage. Remember that dirt should not get to maslotok, water galleries channels and carving openings - a zakuporta their traffic jams or stick with an adhesive tape. For prevention of hit of a deposit in gaps between pistons and cylinders, fill the last of dense lubricant which at the end of the procedure of cleaning will be easy to be removed with a rigid brush. Upon completion of cleaning wipe all surfaces with pure dry rags.
- Survey the interfaced surfaces of a head and the block on existence of deep scratches, cracks and other damages. Small defects can be eliminated with a small shaber, in more serious cases the head should be pierced, or to replace.
- Make sure of purity and dryness of carving openings, - just in case blow them compressed air (it is possible to use the bicycle pump). Presence at deaf openings of traces of lubricant can lead to destruction of the block when tightening bolts as a result of increase of hydraulic pressure.
- Bolts of fastening of a head are subject to replacement without fail, regardless of their current state.
- By means of a steel line and the probe of lezviyny type check planeness of the interfaced head surface (see the Part the General and capital repairs of the engine).
- Replace bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders, - bolts are subject to replacement without fail regardless of their current state.
- Bring the piston of the first cylinder into the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression.
- Dry wipe with pure rags the interfaced surfaces of the block and a head.
- Make sure that both guides of the plug are established in the nests. Lay new sealing laying on the interfaced surface of the block of cylinders, - laying keeps within marking by the mark "OBEN/TOP" up.
Correct provision of laying of a head of cylinders
- Install a head on the block of cylinders - track correctness of hit of the directing plugs in reception nests.
- Dry wipe with pure rags the interfaced surfaces of a head and the GRM case. Make sure of correctness of installation of levers of the drive of valves, maslootrazhatelny caps and hydraulic compensators.
- Apply a layer of OPEL ET-№ 15 03 166 sealant on the top interfaced surface of a head of cylinders.
Putting sealant on the head surface interfaced to the GRM case
- Install the directing plugs and oil pure motive levers of the drive of valves.
- Accurately install the GRM case with the camshaft enclosed in it on a head of cylinders, track correctness of hit of the directing plugs in reception nests, - track correctness of hit of the directing plugs in reception nests.
- Put on NEW bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders of a washer, then screw bolts and tighten them by hand.
- Working in strictly certain sequence, in evenly, tighten bolts according to requirements of the specification.
Order of tightening of bolts of a head of cylinders
- Screw bolts of fastening of a back cover of the GRM drive and tighten them with the required effort.
- Establish a camshaft cogwheel (see the Section Removal and installation of cogwheels of the GRM drive) and a gas-distributing belt (see the Section Removal and installation of a belt of the GRM drive).
- Restore initial connection of an electrical wiring, track correctness of laying of plaits and reliability of their fastening in all provided intermediate clamps.
- Connect hoses of a cooling path to the thermostat case, - track reliability of tightening of fixing collars.
- Install into place the inlet pipeline and a final collector (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
- Establish into place protection of a case and the right forward wheel. Lower the car on the earth and tighten wheel bolts with the required effort.
- Make sure of correctness and reliability of connection of all hoses, then make gas station of the cooling system (see the Head of the Cooling system of the engine, heating of salon and air conditioning).
- Connect the rechargeable battery.
- Start the engine and check it for existence of signs of development of leak of working liquids.
