3.20. Replacement of the fuel filter

Petrol models

The fuel filter is on the car bottom, on the right, near the fuel tank. Replacement of the filter will require special nippers of HAZET 4501-1.

When replacing the fuel filter follow fire safety regulations!


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dump pressure in a power supply system (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
  2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  3. The car also establish to Poddomkratta it on props.
  4. Put under the fuel filter suitable capacity for collecting fuel.
  5. Mark with a tape hoses of giving and return of fuel.

The arrangement of hoses can be determined by the direction of an arrow on the filter, the arrow specifies in the direction of a current.

  1. Open quick disconnect connections of fuel hoses by means of special nippers of HAZET 4501-1 and disconnect both hoses.

Fill the fuel filter with fuel after a detachment of hoses.

  1. Cover unions with rags.
  2. Separate the socket of an electrical wiring and take out the filter from the holder.
  3. Install the fuel filter so that the arrow on its case specified in the direction of a current of fuel, i.e. from a tank to a motive compartment.

Correct installation of the fuel filter

  1. Install the being removed components upside-down.

Diesel models

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Merge fuel from the filter (see the Section Removal of a Sediment from the fuel filter of the diesel engine).
  2. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the thermosensitive sensor switch and an element of heating of the filter established between the fuel filter and its basic arm.
  3. On the engine of 1.5 l disconnect fuel hoses from a filter cover. Remove the fuel filter with the holder. Carefully clamp the filter in a vice and turn out its cover.
  4. On the engine of 1.7 l disconnect the fuel filter from the holder and take out it.

Removal of the fuel filter

  1. Carefully clean the filter case.
  2. Fix the new filter by hand, previously having moistened its consolidation with diesel fuel. Before installation of the filter on the engine of 1.7 l fill it with diesel fuel.
  3. Fix fuel hoses if they acted.
  4. Connect the socket of an electrical wiring of heating of the fuel filter.
  5. Start the engine and pump over a power supply system (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
  6. Be passed on the car and check a power supply system for leaks.
