4.6.1. Removal and installation of a belt of the GRM drive

Removal of a gas-distributing belt has to be made on the cold engine!

Do not turn the engine at the taken-off gas-distributing belt!

The new bolt of fastening of a cogwheel of the camshaft will be required

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Remove the air filter with the giving hose.
  3. On the engine of 1.7 l remove in an engine support set.
  4. Take off a belt of the drive of auxiliary units (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car).
  5. Turn out bolts of fastening and remove the top cover of a gear belt.
  6. Install the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of VMT (see the Section of the Procedure of repair of diesel engines without their extraction from the car).
  7. If the taken-off belt is established further again, apply on it with a felt-tip pen the direction of rotation of the engine (clockwise).
  8. Weaken fastening of a tension roller (arrow) and disconnect its spring

  1. Take off a gear belt from TNVD pulley.
  2. Remove a pulley of a bent shaft. For this purpose, holding a bent shaft for the central bolt of fastening by a cap key, turn out fastening bolts.

  1. Turn out bolts of fastening and remove the lower cover of a gear belt.
  2. Take off a gear belt.

Removal and installation of support of the engine (engine of 1.7 l)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Raise the engine by means of KM-263-B adaptation and a chain Instead of the specified adaptation it is possible to use a suitable pipe, having established it on wooden whetstones on ledges of wings.

Use of special device for raising of the engine

  1. Turn out bolts of fastening of the damping engine support to the holder.

  1. Turn out bolts of fastening of the damping engine support to a longitudinal beam of a forward frame. After that clear a carving a wire brush of the sealant remains.
  2. Turn out bolts of fastening of the holder of support of the engine from the engine block.
  3. Installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components. Tighten fixture with the required effort. Previously grease a carving with sealant, for example, of OPEL-15 10 177.

Installation

Before installation of a gear belt check whether the tag on a pulley of a bent shaft coincides with the index on the block of cylinders. At the same time fixing bolts in cogwheels of the camshaft and TNVD have to be rolled. For check it is possible to establish a pulley of a bent shaft temporarily.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Put on a gear belt according to the scheme of its laying.

If the former belt is established, observe the direction of its movement.

  1. Tighten bolts of fastening of the lower cover of a gear belt with effort of 10 Nanometers.
  2. Establish a pulley of a bent shaft and tighten bolts of its fastening with effort of 20 Nanometers.
  3. Turn out lock bolts of provision of VMT.
  4. Hook on a spring of a tension roller, thereby having pulled a gear belt.

The bent shaft at the same time has to be in the situation corresponding to the provision of VMT of the piston of the first cylinder.

  1. Establish a tension roller and tighten its fixture with effort of 20 Nanometers. At the same time tighten at first a bolt (A), and then a nut (In).

  1. Turn a bent shaft on two whole revolutions in the direction of rotation of the engine so that the piston of the first cylinder stopped in the provision of VMT.

Rotate a bent shaft smoothly to exclude jumping of teeth of a belt. Temporarily insert bolts for fixing and check the provision of VMT.

  1. Check the fuel injection moment (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
  2. Further installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components.
