4.7.5. Dismantling of a head of cylinders

The new or restored head can be ordered on HUNDRED Opel or from a warehouse of the producer. In view of the fact that when carrying out dismantling and check of a condition of a head some difficult and expensive devices will be required, it will be possible to get the new or restored head cheaper.

At the corresponding complete set right after removal of a head take an oil dispersion jet(s) from the engine block, clean it and put in a separate plastic bag.

Dismantling of a head of cylinders demands preliminary dismantle of the valvate mechanism (inlet and final valves with the accompanying components). It is meant that levers of the drive of valves and the camshaft(s) are already taken from a head(s).

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove a head of cylinders from the engine block (see the Part of the Procedure of repair of petrol SOHC engines without their extraction from the car, the Procedure of repair of petrol DOHC engines without their extraction from the car or the Procedure of repair of diesel engines without their extraction from the car of the present Chapter).
  2. By means of the special tool squeeze a spring(s) of the first valve and take from a flute on a core crackers of the cutting lock of a plate (use the magnetized core, korntsangy, or nippers). Carefully release the tool and remove from the valve a plate springs, a spring(s), a maslootrazhatelny cap and a saddle of a spring (depending on a complete set) On release SOHC engines till September, 1995 remove also rotators.

If crackers "stuck" and do not give in to extraction, slightly knock with the hammer on the tool for tightening of springs from a clamp.

  1. Put the removed components of valvate assembly in the separate accurately numbered polyethylene package / a plastic glass.
  2. Further, take the valve, having pushed it in the combustion chamber. If there is a jamming of the valve in the directing plug, push it back in a head and an oselok or a file with small tooth accurately smooth out edges of a flute under installation of crackers.
  3. Working in a similar manner, dismantle the remained valvate assemblies. Put the removed components of each of valves in the separate, equipped with the corresponding marking package/glass, - at assembly each detail has to be established strictly on the former place.
  4. After all components of the valvate mechanism are taken and put in an organized order, it is possible to start performing procedures of cleaning and check of a condition of a head (at full-scale recovery repair of the engine before finish its dismantling).
