Check

Driving, or as it is called sometimes, the V-shaped belt is located in a forward part of the power unit and is applied to the drive of such auxiliary units as the generator, the steering pump and the К/В compressor. Eventually the belt wears out and has to look round regularly according to the schedule of routine maintenance of the car in order to avoid serious engine failures which correction of consequences can become the owner of the car in kopek. On the models completed with K/V or GUR the strengthened (ridge) belt is established.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Kill the engine, open a cowl and find a driving belt in a forward part of the power unit.   1. On petrol models remove the air cleaner with inlet air ducts.
  2. Also install the car with the diesel engine to a poddomkratta on props.
  3. On petrol engines to 08.1994 g of the issue weaken a bolt of fastening of a tension level and incline the generator towards the engine Thus the tension of a driving belt is weakened. If necessary weaken the lower bolt of an arm of the generator.

  1. On petrol engines from 09.1994 g of the issue turn out a bolt (1) of an arm of the generator / inlet the pipeline. Give bolts (2) fastenings of a tension level of the generator. Give a bolt of fastening of the lower support of the generator (3). Give a tension bolt (4) of a driving belt.

  1. Take off a driving belt.
  2. Establish a new driving belt.
  3. On petrol engines to 08.1994 g of the issue wring out the generator mount from the engine. Fix a tension level. On engines from 09.1994 g of the issue tighten a tension bolt so that to reach the correct tension of a belt. Tighten bolts of fastening of an arm of the generator.
  4. On the diesel engine wring out the generator a tetrahedral key from the engine and fix a tension level.
  5. Check a belt tension a hand thumb. In a point where check of a tension is made by the special device, the belt has to have a deflection of 5 mm. However at the next carrying out maintenance it is necessary to check a belt tension for HUNDRED since at incorrect adjustment the belt can slip.

  2. On the diesel engine tighten bolts of fastening of a tension level with effort of 25 Nanometers and an arm of the generator with effort of 50 Nanometers. Lower the car on the earth.

L OHC 1.2 and 1.4 engines with l GUR and DOHC 1.4 and 1.6

  1. Remove the air cleaner with inlet air ducts (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
  2. If the driving belt is recognized suitable for further use, mark with paint or a marker the original direction of its movement. Try to remember an order of laying of a belt around pulleys.
  3. On the DOHC engine without GUR weaken a belt tension for what develop a natyazhitel counterclockwise for the central bolt.

  1. On the OHC engine with GUR turn a tension roller a cap key clockwise so that openings in the holder coincided and a tension roller record in this situation a tension roller the corresponding core or a hairpin and take off a belt.

L engines 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 with GUR and K/V

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Remove the air cleaner with air ducts and the MAF sensor (the engine of 1.6 l) (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
  3. Raise the engine by means of OPEL KM-263-B adaptation.

In the absence of the specified adaptation put on wooden laying on wings the corresponding pipe, pass a chain through engine eyes, connect it to a pipe and pull a chain.

  1. Turn a tension roller a cap key in the direction of an hour hand so that openings of the holder and a tension roller (A) B this situation coincided record a tension roller the corresponding hook (C).

The hook can be made independently (In) of a wire with a diameter of 4 mm. Total length of a wire makes about 280 mm.

  1. Turn out bolts of fastening and disconnect the holder of the power unit from the damping engine support.

  1. Turn out three bolts of fastening with a fillet in front on the right and at the left and remove drafts with the holder from a cross-piece of a forward suspension bracket.
  2. Lower the engine approximately by 5 cm, turn out bolts of fastening and disconnect the holder of the power unit from the holder of the pump GUR and the K/V compressor and take out it down.
  3. Take off a driving belt.
  4. Put on a new driving belt.
  5. Establish the holder of the power unit on the holder of the pump GUR and K/V compressor and tighten fixture with effort of 60 Nanometers.
  6. Raise the power unit and tighten fixture of his holder to the damping support with effort of 60 Nanometers.
  7. Fix the holder of drafts in front at the left and on the right at a cross-piece by new bolts. Tighten bolts with effort of 50 Nanometers and then tighten 90 ÷ 105 hail on a corner.
  8. If KM-263-B adaptation was installed, remove it.
  9. On the engine of 1.6 l connect the MAF sensor socket.

DOHC l engines 1.0 and 1.2

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. If the driving belt is recognized suitable for further use, mark with paint or a marker the original direction of its rotation. Try to remember an order of laying of a belt around pulleys.
  2. Remove the air cleaner with inlet air ducts (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
  3. Slightly raise the engine the elevator and remove protection of a case.
  4. Disconnect the holder of the engine in front to the right of the damping support (address an illustration).
  5. Disconnect the holder of the engine in front to the right of the engine (1).

  1. Turn a tension roller for the central bolt in the direction of an hour hand. Fix the tension device a suitable core.

Point of fixing of a natyazhitel

  1. Take off a driving belt and replace it.
  2. Slightly pull a natyazhitel, take out a lock pin and slowly weaken the tension device. At the same time you watch for correct the provision of a belt in flutes of pulleys.
  3. Tighten bolts of fastening of the holder of the engine to the engine and the damping support with effort of 60 Nanometers. Remove the engine elevator.
  4. Install into place the air filter.
