6.1.11. Removal and installation of the case of a throttle - petrol models

Remember that gasoline is extremely flammable liquid! During the work with components of a power supply system observe all taken measures of fire safety. Do not smoke! Do not approach the venue of works with naked flame or the carrying unprotected by the lamp shade! You do not make service of system in the rooms equipped with the heating devices using natural gas and equipped with a control torch (such as vodogre and dryers for clothes). Do not forget that gasoline is among cancerogenic substances, i.e., - the substances promoting development of cancer! Try not to allow hits of fuel on open parts of the body, - use rubber protective gloves, at casual unforeseen contact with fuel carefully wash hands warm water with soap. Immediately collect the spilled fuel and do not put the rags impregnated with fuel and lubricants near sources of naked flame. Remember that the power supply system of the models equipped with injection of fuel constantly is under pressure. Before starting a detachment of fuel lines, dump residual pressure in system. At service of components of a power supply system put on goggles. Constantly hold near at hand the class B fire extinguisher!

Further procedures of removal and installation of the case of a throttle on the 45 and 60 h.p. engines of 1.2 and 1.4 l respectively are described.

  1. Dump fuel pressure in system.
  2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  3. Disconnect a ventilation hose from the preliminary camera.
  4. Disconnect a vacuum hose behind the throttle case, at the preliminary camera.
  5. Remove the preliminary camera by means of the crosswise screw-driver and take aside an air hose (see the Section Removal and installation of components of an inlet air path).
  6. Mark with a tape all sockets of the case of a throttle and separate them.
  7. Mark with a tape fuel-supply lines and disconnect them from unions, if necessary cut off collars.

Previously enclose rags and wipe the following fuel.

  1. Wring out the screw-driver a driving bar from the lever of a butterfly valve. Previously take out a lock pin.

  1. Give two nuts of fastening of the case of a throttle and two bolts of fastening of its top part.

Fixture of the top part of the case of a throttle

  1. Remove the top part. Remove the remains of sealant and clear the interfaced surfaces.



  1. Establish the top part with new laying.
  2. Grease a carving of bolts and nuts with the stiffening sealant, for example, of OPEL-15 10 177.
  3. Tighten nuts of fastening of the case of a throttle with effort of 22 Nanometers and bolts of fastening of its top part with effort of 6 Nanometers.
  4. Further installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components. Tighten fixture of the preliminary camera with effort of 4 Nanometers.
  5. Start the engine and check unions for leaks.
