6.1.1. Dropping pressure in a power supply system of petrol engines

Remember that gasoline is extremely flammable liquid! During the work with components of a power supply system observe all taken measures of fire safety. Do not smoke! Do not approach the venue of works with naked flame or the carrying unprotected by the lamp shade! You do not make service of system in the rooms equipped with the heating devices using natural gas and equipped with a control torch (such as vodogre and dryers for clothes). Do not forget that gasoline is among cancerogenic substances, i.e., - the substances promoting development of cancer! Try not to allow hits of fuel on open parts of the body, - use rubber protective gloves, at casual unforeseen contact with fuel carefully wash hands warm water with soap. Immediately collect the spilled fuel and do not put the rags impregnated with fuel and lubricants near sources of naked flame. Remember that the power supply system of the models equipped with injection of fuel constantly is under pressure. Before starting a detachment of fuel lines, dump residual pressure in system. At service of components of a power supply system put on goggles. Constantly hold near at hand the class B fire extinguisher!

As it was already mentioned above (see the Section of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases), the electric fuel pump placed in a tank submersible, the fuel filter, injection injectors, the regulator of pressure and fuel lines connecting the listed components is a part of a power supply system. Fuel in a path of a power supply system at the working engine and the included ignition is under pressure. Residual excessive pressure continues to keep in system during even some time after switching off of ignition and before a detachment components/undocking of nipple sockets has to be dumped.

Dumping of pressure in a power supply system has to be carried out before service of any of its components for the purpose of minimization of risk of ignition of fuel and receiving injuries by the performer.


  1. On X12SZ, C14SZ and X14NZ engines disconnect an electrical wiring of the relay of the fuel pump (shooter) located in a foot well behind a cover of the right rack of A and start the engine on 5 with to dump fuel pressure.

  1. On X14SE, X14XE, X16XE, C16XE engines and DOHC 1.0 and 1.2 engines of l remove a safety lock of the fuel pump (No. 26 in the block of safety locks), start the engine and let's it work until it does not decay then turn the engine a starter on 2 ÷ 3 turn.
