5.3.7. Removal and installation of the water pump

Petrol engines 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 of l

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Merge cooling liquid in pure capacity and at once put on a hose back and fix it.
  3. Take off a gear belt (see the Head Dvigateli).
  4. On OHC 1.2 and 1.4 engines of l remove a back cover of a gear belt (see the Head Dvigateli) for what turn out bolts of fastening and uncover camshaft beds, cogwheels of distributive and cranked shaft, and also a tension roller the case of the oil pump.
  5. Turn out bolts of fastening and remove the water pump (the l OHC 1.2 or 1.4 engine is shown).

  1. Clear the interfaced surfaces of the pump and the block of cylinders.
  2. To exclude corrosion of the water pump, grease the surface of the block of cylinders interfaced to it, and also a sealing ring in a pump housing with silicone lubricant, for example, OPEL 19 70 206 (90 167 353).
  3. Install the water pump with a new sealing ring (2) in the block of cylinders and tighten bolts of its fastening with effort of 8 Nanometers.

On DOHC 1.4 and 1.6 engines of l install the pump so that the tag (2) on the pump coincided with a tag (1) on the block of cylinders

Adjusting tags
  1. On OHC 1.2 and 1.4 engines of l establish a back cover of a gear belt, tighten bolts of its fastening with effort of 12 Nanometers, and establish a cogwheel of a bent shaft, monitoring coincidence of tags of VMT (see the Head Dvigateli).
  2. On OHC 1.2 and 1.4 engines of l establish a tension roller of a gear belt. You monitor the provision of installation: the pad (1) of a level of a roller has to enter an opening (2) cases of the Pad oil pump has to come into an opening against the stop to the right. Tighten a bolt with effort of 20 Nanometers. Establish a camshaft cogwheel (see the Head Dvigateli).

  1. Put on a gear belt and pull it (see the Head Dvigateli).
  2. On OHC 1.2 and 1.4 engines of l establish a camshaft bed cover with new sealing laying and tighten fastening bolts with effort of 8 Nanometers.
  3. Fill the cooling system.

Petrol DOHC 1.0 and 1.2 engines of l

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Uncover a broad tank and pit thereby pressure in the cooling system.
  2. Merge cooling liquid.
  3. Remove the air filter with the MAF sensor.
  4. Give bolts of fastening of a pulley of the water pump.
  5. Turn a tension roller of a V-shaped belt for the central bolt in the direction of an hour hand and by that displace a natyazhitel, overcoming effort of a spring.

Weakening of a tension of a belt of the drive of auxiliary units

  1. Record the provision of a natyazhitel.
  2. Take off a V-shaped belt from a pulley.
  3. Turn out the lower bolt of fastening of a natyazhitel and incline it towards the generator.
  4. Remove OZh hoses from the pump.
  5. Separate the socket of the ECT (2) sensor and clear the GRM case.

  1. Turn out bolts of fastening and remove the water pump (arrows and 1 on an illustration).
  2. Clear the interfaced surfaces of the pump and the GRM case.
  3. Install new laying on the GRM case and insert the directing plugs.

  1. Install the water pump and tighten bolts of its fastening with effort of 8 Nanometers.

Screw short bolts in openings (1), and long bolts - in the openings noted by shooters (address an illustration).

  1. Tighten the lower bolt of fastening of a natyazhitel of a V-shaped belt with effort of 20 Nanometers.
  2. Put on a V-shaped belt and pull it (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car).
  3. Install the air filter with the MAF sensor.
  4. Fill the cooling system.

Diesel engine

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Merge cooling liquid in the pure capacity then at once put on a hose and fix it.
  3. Remove the air filter and a sleeve of an air inlet.
  4. Take off a V-shaped belt.
  5. Turn out bolts of fastening of a pulley of the water pump and remove a pulley At a reversing of bolts hold a pulley a stripper of an oil filter, for example, of HAZET 2170.

  1. Slightly raise the engine.

Use of special device for raising of the engine

  1. Turn out bolts of fastening of the damping engine support to the holder on the block of cylinders.

  1. Carefully lower the engine and remove a pulley of a V-shaped belt.
  2. Turn out bolts of fastening of the water pump and take out it together with a guide from the block of cylinders.

  1. Clear the interfaced surfaces of the pump and the block of cylinders.
  2. Insert a guide of the channel of cooling liquid into the block of cylinders.

  1. Install the pump with new laying in the block of cylinders and tighten bolts of fastening of the pump with effort of 20 Nanometers.
  2. Establish a pump pulley.
  3. Raise the engine.
  4. Fix the damping engine support on the holder with effort of 60 Nanometers.
  5. Lower the engine.
  6. Tighten fixture of a pulley of the water pump with effort of 20 Nanometers.
  7. Establish a V-shaped belt and pull it.
  8. Install the air filter and a sleeve of an air inlet.
  9. Fill the cooling system.
