4.5.1. Removal and installation of a cover of the gas-distributing mechanism

L engines 1.0 and 1.2

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Turn out bolts of fastening and uncover protection the cover (2) heads of cylinders in the direction specified illustrations by an arrow.

  1. Separate the socket of an electrical wiring (4), disconnect hoses of PCV (1) from a cover of a head of cylinders and separate the multicontact socket of an electrical wiring (3) modules of ignition (address an illustration).
  2. Turn out bolts of fastening of the module of ignition.
  3. Take out the ignition module from a head of cylinders up. For this purpose screw special capture of KM-574 (1) in the module. If there is no capture, screw the corresponding bolts and extend the ignition module for bolts. Uncover a maslozalivny mouth (2).

  1. Evenly for several receptions turn out bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of cylinders.

  1. On the DOHC engine of 1.2 l the cover of a head of cylinders is in addition fixed by four bolts.
  2. Uncover a head of cylinders.
  3. Remove laying of a cover of a head of cylinders and clear the interfaced surfaces.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Insert new consolidation into a cover of a head of cylinders.
  2. Apply sealant on the interfaced surfaces.

Places of putting sealant

  1. Establish a cover of a head of cylinders with new consolidation and evenly for several receptions tighten fastening bolts with effort of 8 Nanometers.
  2. Establish a cover of a maslozalivny mouth.
  3. Install the module of ignition on spark plugs and tighten bolts of its fastening with effort of 8 Nanometers.
  4. Further installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components.

L engines 1.4 and 1.6

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Pit fuel pressure (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
  2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  3. Remove the air filter with the MAF sensor and a sleeve of an air inlet (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
  4. Merge cooling liquid in in advance prepared capacity (see the Head of the Cooling system of the engine, heating of salon and air conditioning).
  5. Disconnect the top and lower hoses of a radiator (see the Head of the Cooling system of the engine, heating of salon and air conditioning).
  6. Turn out bolts of fastening and remove the tank from a partition of a motive compartment.
  7. Uncover VV of wires.
  8. Disconnect the giving fuel hose (1) from the fuel highway and a returnable fuel hose (2) from the fuel pressure regulator. Previously mark fuel hoses with a tape not to mix them at installation. Press hoses clips.

Fuel hoses

Enclose rags under the following fuel.

  1. Disconnect a hose of PCV (1) and a vacuum hose of the amplifier of brakes (2) from the top part of the inlet pipeline.

  1. Disconnect a vacuum hose from the regulator of pressure of fuel (1) and from the control valve of the evaporator (2) on the top part of the inlet pipeline. On an accompanying illustration the C16XE engine is shown. On other engines in addition disconnect a vacuum hose of the sensor of pressure in the inlet pipeline (MAP).

  1. On the C16XE engine weaken the screw-driver a clip (1) of the control valve of the evaporator (shooter) and take out it together with the valve from the holder up. Take aside the control valve of the evaporator.

  1. Remove a cable of a butterfly valve on the case of a throttle and take a cable aside (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
  2. Separate the multicontact socket of the module of ignition of DIS and disconnect an electrical wiring from temperature sensor on the thermostat case.
  3. Disconnect a pipe of forcing of air from a branch pipe of a butterfly valve.
  4. Turn out bolts of fastening of a branch pipe of a butterfly valve (shooter). Remove a branch pipe and put it aside.

  1. Give bolts of fastening of the top part of the inlet pipeline.

  1. Separate the socket of the CKP (2) sensor and the CMP (3) sensor. On the C16XE engine separate the socket of injectors (1).

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the lower part of the inlet pipeline.
  2. Disconnect a vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator.
  3. Disconnect PCV hose from a cover of a head of cylinders.
  4. On X14XE and X16XE engines remove from the engine the pump of supply of additional air together with an electrical wiring (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
  5. Give 10 bolts of fastening of a cover of GRM and uncover together with sealing elements.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Make sure of purity and dryness of the interfaced surfaces of a cover and a head.
  2. Establish on a head of cylinders new laying (1) and new sealing rings (2).

Elements of consolidation of a cover of GRM

That sealing rings at installation did not fall in a head of cylinders, grease them with a small amount of vaseline. Grease corners of a cover of bearings of the camshaft from pulleys of the camshaft with OPEL L000 0295 sealant.

  1. Accurately lay GRM cover on the regular place, controlling correctness of placement of consolidations. Screw fixing bolts and, moving on a spiral from the center to edges, evenly tighten them with effort of 8 Nanometers.
  2. Establish the top part of the inlet pipeline and tighten bolts of its fastening with effort of 8 Nanometers.
  3. Establish a branch pipe of a butterfly valve with new sealing laying and tighten bolts of its fastening to the top part of the inlet pipeline with effort of 8 Nanometers.
  4. Install a cable of a butterfly valve on the case of a throttle and check its adjustment (see the Head of the Power supply system, release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
  5. Further installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components.
